I thought this was too cute. Maggie fell asleep reading her new princess book that she got on our girl's night out last night. She already has it memorized!

Playing Catch Up

Seeing as I am really slow at sending pictures to everyone, I thought I would take this opportunity to just recap this whole year for you really quick. Morgan was baptized on January 5, 2008. We were lucky enough to have all of my family in town, except for Annie's husband Derek, who was in Iraq. We even had Grandpa Bob right before he joined Derek in the desert. Nelson's sister and her family were also in town from California.

Later that month, I got to visit my great-grandfather Eldred G. Smith on his 101st birthday.

Mom, Grandaddy & me

Josh got to participate in the Kindy 500 in February. Each child had to build their own car out of cardboard boxes. Each car had a licence plate from a different state. During the Kindy 500, they rode around the school in there cars and visited different places of interest around the United States. They visited the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, the Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore, and many others. Josh loved it!
This is unloading "The General Lee" from the car.

The starting line!

My mom sent matching Easter clothes for all the kids.

As you can see in these pictures, There is snow everywhere except on our front lawn. Nelson was tired of all the unusually large amounts of snow we received this winter, and thought he could make it feel more like spring if he removed the snow from our front lawn. I was rather surprised on e afternoon to find him using the snow blower to blow all of our snow onto the street so that it would melt faster. Keep in mind that we had over a foot in the front yard when he did this. He tried to do the same thing in the back yard, but quickly discovered that this was impossible as a 3-foot glacier had formed! I'm sure all of our neighbors thought he had completely lost it.

Maggie was so excited when she discovered that all her eggs had candy!

Mike turned 10 on March 24th.

Morgan is quite the dancer. She has been really excited because this year she has 2 dance recitals. The first one was in April, and the next on e will be in June. The April recital was a production of Alice in Wonderland. She was in the Lobster Square Dance. Katie brought her girls to watch it. Morgan loves having an audience!

Well, this isn't everything that has happened this year, Josh turned 6 in April, and somehow those pictures were deleted from my camera. As you can see, we keep pretty busy around here. Hopefully my next entry won't be nearly as long because I won't be trying to update you on 5 months of events.

We'll See How This Goes!

Today I am starting a blog. I have never done anything like this before, so I apologize if it seems strange. I guess I will catch everyone up on what is happening in our family. Today is the last day of school. I'm not too sure if I am ready for all the kids to be home all summer long. I guess I really don't have a choice at this point. Mike is 10 and is just finishing up 4th grade. Morgan is 8 and finishing 2nd grade. Josh is 6 and graduated from kindergarten last week. He has already told me on multiple occasions that he doesn't like being home all day and wants to go back to school so that he be with all his friends all day. I have a feeling this is going to be a very long summer!

This is Josh at his graduation. He thought his cap was pretty cool!
